[cultivating dreams by numbers]
Big cheers to the very kind people plugging the blog- just to mention a few- mr.dubversion, reynolds, beyond the implode, rob fuckkill, the ladydrone, mr.bloke (psych,dr.)- I raise my glass to you dear sirs and mesdames. You’ve got impeccable taste for sure.
-Just bear with the blog, it hasn’t quite found itself yet...I do my best, try and put it in a bigger pot by the window so it will get lots of sunlight, trimming its leaves (very regularly for sure), only watering it with fresh bottled water from the swiss alps, carefully cooled from the fridge in a temperature that recalls more frozen habitats- But it’s a damn moody and stubborn little thing, it won’t evolve or improve as it’s supposed to, keeps going around in circles, drops big smelly farts when it thinks i won’t notice, keeps scrawling rude words on the windowpane, sniggers evilly at me behind my back, drops dry little poo-trails then acts like a child, commanding me to pick it up and clean up its damn little mess...It is a weird and quirky little thing. I do get sick of it sometimes, but then it tip-toes up to me with a box of belgian praline chocolates and that irresistible goofy smile, whispering it is sorry and looking down at the carpet with a sad little scowl, melting my heart. Aww. I know it loves me, really...Deep, deep down in that mutated, digitised little heart it is virtually trembling for my love. So i let it be moody. Love is in numbers. Just don’t let numbers let you down. ..Cheerio then.:)

awww geez, yer welcome :)
Too true....us kids over here in the slow-reader corner really like your blog 'cos of all the pictures...
-Um,thanks(?),i guess...:)
(-was that a compliment, or the opposite??-I'm confused...:)
*cries into pint*
*runs off to find some more pictures*

Definitely a compliment - sorry - 'twas merely me poking fun at my preference for blogs with pictures....
Your blog is long to load, but always worth it!
(Incidentally - I can't find the post on that African modernist city - did I dream it? Strange, decaying cities that appear and disappear at random - very Michael Moorcock!)
(-aww,yeah,so i reckoned!!...just me being cheeky/jokey again...!!;)
-heh...yeah,i *did* post up that "african modernist city" article...then had some doubts about the copyright issues of using the pictures, and decided to wait until i heard back from the magazine people whether it was okay with them...never heard anything from them,so feel a bit indecisive about the whole thing,i *did* provide a link to the original article/mag in that post, after all,but i doubt it would be *very* popular with them just using stuff like that...that said,i managed to track down the book, excellent stuff- can provide the ISBN/full details of that one if you want, haven't got it here with me right now tho',but will get back on the case and post up autor/title later,if desired...!
(-On yet another tangent, have begun to scan some pics from a marocco trip now,so those will maybe appear here soon, there's a lot of incredibly beautiful "traditional" architecture in that area too...could fill a whole blog just with the pictures of stunningly painted/ornamented old doorhandles or houses!!":)
I reckon it's OK to use an image if you give a link.
It's pretty much free advertising isn't it?
I considered buying it for a sec. Or at least persuading my college library to buy it.
-Aw, yeah, didn't think of that to be honest...In this case, i guess you're right- but if it had just been an ordinary article and not a book review, i reckon it'd been more of a "grey-zone"...
-Anyway, yeah, persuade them to buy it!...It's some great pictures in there...The book is called "Asmara : Africa's Secret Modernist City", by Merrell publishing, ISBN : 1 85894 209-8.
