ah, forgot to credit him/her:...a recent japanese discovery, obscure artist/illustrator Fuko Ueda (a number of alternate spellings seem to exist, i'm not quite sure how to spell it)
...for some reason, it seems like there's no way of getting hold of his/her work outside of japan, and if that's true that's a shame...stunning imagery and a sensibility that i very rarely see in western artists...it's that otherworldly/supernatural undercurrent that fascinates me, the sort of merging/blend between the inner and the outer world, very expressive with a nod to manga etc...lovely...
seems like there's more interesting stuff to check out in the periferies
now than ever before, lots of new voices and unique visions-
exciting to be watching new styles and forms emerge and mutate...
